It is sad that there are plenty of homeless people in the world; people who live in the streets and in other public spots because they are too poor to buy a house of their own or even pay rent for a room. But though they are poor, many of them remain kind, compassionate, and generous – putting others before themselves!
Loong Dum is a homeless man in Thailand. Barefoot, grimy, and barely able to eat a meal each day, Loong had every reason to keep any money he earns or finds for himself. Yet he does not do that; instead, he sells lime so he could feed stray cats first!
For Loong, it does not matter if he could not eat much because he’s already used to that, anyway. Whatever he earns from selling lime he would buy food for the cats first. If there’s some extra cash, then that’s the time he would buy food for himself.
The selfless act went viral after a young woman named Warunya Wattanasupachoke saw him in the streets and snapped a photo of his sign, “20 baht per bag, profits will pay for stray cat’s food expenses”.
Warunya bought some lime from Loong and was amazed that he, indeed, put the cats’ needs first. Netizens were equally impressed. Many would go to Loong’s spot to buy the lime to help him have cash for the cats. But others also came with food for the cats – and for Loong, too!
Someone even gave him a mini makeover, giving him a haircut plus clean clothes and slippers so he could better sell his lime for the stray cats whom he considers as his family.
